To mark the Feast of St Francis and the close of the Season of Creation, we will incorporate a blessing of pets into our worship on Sunday, October 1st.
Worship is at 10 am on Sunday mornings both in the building and on Zoom.
Our worship includes the Holy Eucharist with Bible readings, a reflection, and singing led by a small choir. Our children who attend in the building participate in a Sunday School program during worship.
The Pet Blessing will be at the beginning of the service. Animals are welcome to join us for all of worship time. For less social companion animals, three options are available:
- Pastor Ruth is happy to say a prayer of blessing with you and a photo of your pet (on your phone is fine). If you would like to share a photo with the whole congregation, please email it to ruth @ ststephenburnaby.ca and we will build a short slide show.
- You may join us by Zoom and ensure the Zoom host knows you would like an animal blessing. At the appropriate time, we will put you and your pet on the screen.
- While we must discourage pets from joining us for coffee hour, Pastor Ruth is pleased to meet your animal companions in the parking lot for their blessing during this time (approximately 11:30-12:15).
