Parish News
Dear Friends, I am so grateful for your patience and goodwill and paryers for me and each other in this time. I am hearing from people who are facing the regular challenges of life -- illness, the death of family members -- and from those struggling with the particular upheavels of this time -- job losses and job stresses, isolation, and the increased confusion we face without the structure and routine of our lives. I am also seeing some great works of service happening amongst our people: our sewers have been busy making supplies for medical staff, our wardens have been very busy clearing out and cleaning the church's kitchen and other storage areas, and I know several of you are keeping each other's spirits high with regular phone calls. We are looking for some additional help with one area of cleaning -- if you are healthy and willing to come in masked we could use your ability to lift, tote, sweep, and wipe in the Thrift Shop kitchen. We have a low-contact, socially distanced plan to keep everyone safe for that project. Please let me know if you have an afternoon or two that you could do. If you live near the church, you may have heard the bells ringing some days at 7pm when many neighbours are cheering for our essential service workers. Volunteers are making that happen and we could use a few more. Please contact Lois in the office. Because of the Victoria Day long weekend, our Monday Bible Study Group will not be meeting. We should have more information this week about what the Archbishop will require for us to re-start worshiping in person and your wardens and I will be working on a plan for the summer. Stay safe, Pastor Ruth |

Lectio DivinaA Shared Time of Holy Reading - Monday, May 25, 2020 Lectio Divina is the practice of holy reading -- seeking God in written texts, often Scripture, but not always. All are welcome to join us for a time to reflect on short uplifting spiritual readings or poems by Frederick Buechner, Annie Dillard, Richard Wagamese, and others. There will be short times of silence followed by opportunities to share what stands out for you and how it might relate to your life. Sharing is optional. For more infomation visit:
