The big news around here this week is staffing changes - but don't worry, it is all good news!
Having ably served as St Stephen's Parish Administrator/Rental Coordinator for almost 8 years and having picked up some office assistant hours at St Timothy's, Lois Holmlund will transition to a new role of Rental Coordinator/Financial Assistant for both parishes. This will let her focus on keeping the significant number of user groups happy and paying on time at St Stephen's, recreate some of that success with user groups at St Timothy's, and better support the treasurers of both parishes. Lois will work just 14 hours per week and be at St Stephen's most Thursdays and at St Timothy most Fridays. She'll also have some flexible hours to meet with user groups when they come in -- often in the evenings or on Saturdays. You can reach Lois by email at rentals@ststephenburnaby.ca or building@sainttimothy.ca.
In order to allow Lois this greater focus, we have hired Sam Jamieson (one of the Canada Summer Jobs Grant students and a member of St Timothy) to be our Office Assistant. Sam will take over bulletin production for both parishes and some general administration. He will also work 14 hours per week and be in Tuesday evenings (at St Timothy), Thursday evenings (at St Stephen), and Sunday afternoons (at St Timothy). We have some important "next steps" in streamlining this big weekly task and improving the consistency of our communication that we're excited to have his support and fresh eyes working on. You can reach Sam at info@ststephenburnaby.ca or office@sainttimothy.ca.
If you are unsure who to ask about a parish question, feel free to check with Pastor Ruth (or Pastor Neil when he returns from vacation) and we will help direct you.
