On Tuesday, June 22, several members of our parish—Theresa, Roxee, Enid, and Trudi—gathered to ring the church bells in memory of the 215 children found buried at the Kamloops Residential School earlier this month.

Theresa read this note and prayer that she wrote:We acknowledge and thank the Coast Salish people whose land we live, work, and play on.  May we learn and grow with you today, and in the days to come.   Loving Creator, I have no drum, but I ring these bells today in hopes of bringing about reconciliation with the Coast Salish people.  May truth and knowledge bring us closer to one another.  Guide us and bring us wisdom to our thoughts, words, and deeds, that we heal the wrongs of the past that the future be billed with love and your light.

Thank you, Theresa, for organizing this memorial gesture!
