The April “New to You Market” and Mother’s Day Craft Sale was widely successful! We had nearly $300 in craft sales which led to record sales for the day. In total, we made $1500!!

We had several big sales – folks who spent over $100 each. One was a member of the costume department for a television production who whipped in when she saw our flags outside. Another took advantage of our ½ price sale on winter coats and stocked up.  We had a steady stream of customers throughout the day. We had two calls earlier in the month from folks who saw our notice in What’s On Burnaby. And, of course, the state of the economy might drive some extra traffic to used goods. But we are not 100% sure what drove the sales and only time will tell if we continue to see an increase in customers and sales.

We are particularly well-stocked at the moment so be sure to recommend our May sale if you or someone you know are looking for:

  • Crystal and/or glassware. We have lots of cut crystal bowls, cups, and plates. And so very many glasses for all sorts of beverages.
  • Larger sized women’s wear (a frequently challenging find in Thrift Shops).
  • Great summer reads that you can drag to the beach, on a hike, or drop in the pool without any guilt.

Our thanks to our young photographer for the photos.
