We are excited to welcome you to a simple evening meal on the 3rd Wednesday of each month. Doors open at 4:30. Dinner is served at 5:30.
Dinner menus change monthly, reflecting seasonal offerings. Generally, we have salad, bread, a main dish, and dessert. Vegan options are available.
February's menu will be inspired by Chinese New Year. Our chef's tradition is to share stories of her family's ancestors at their celebration. We are inviting everyone to join in this tradition -- to bring a photo of an ancestor or living family member and use the photos to kick start conversation at your table.
This meal is for everyone -- those whose budgets need a free meal and those who need a meal with others. We want to feed community in Northeast Burnaby. Therefore, this meal is FREE.
Many meals often have leftovers (not always, but often); you are welcome to bring a container with you to take leftovers during the clean up time. We are trying to move away from storing containers on site.
Those who are able are invited to take on a job - large or small - as part of setting up or cleaning up. Most jobs are assigned as the meal begins; please let the host at the door know you'd like to help.
The funding for this meal was initially provided by a Parish Development Grant from the Diocese of New Westminster. We gratefully accept donations from those willing and able to contribute financially. There is a donation jar at the meal or donations can be made online; use the drop down menu).
